Who is the Capital City Business Council?

A consolidated voice representing businesses and building a rich pro-business climate in Saint Paul

The Challenge

Saint Paul business owners today encounter a magnitude of challenges conducting everyday operations. Local, state, and county legislation stiffle economic prosperity. Excessive tax increases, over-regulation, and daunting licensing and inspection processes have contributed to these challenges. The failure of these irresponsible economic policies is evidence by an increase in commercial property vacancies, home vacancies, a stressed infrastructure and a lack of business reinvestment that frustrates economic development. We at the Capital City Business Council are committed to improving out business community and neighborhood prosperity.

Our Mission

To serve as a consolidated voice representing local micro, small, and medium sized businesses, advocate positive change, and build a rich pro-business climate in Saint Paul and surrounding areas.

Areas Of Focus

The Capital City Business Council has identified five main areas of focus affecting Saint Paul businesses that need reform. Positive changes in these areas will engender a vigorous, pro-business environment. These areas are:

  • Taxes
  • Ordinances
  • Fees & Licensing
  • Pro-business Legislation
  • Government Accountability
